You are here to serve library customers all over the world. In order to give Sunsational service you should become familiar with our collection, our libraries, and the layout of the floor.
The ready reference collection is the collection right behind the reference desk. These books can't be checked out. You will find Yellow pages, local history reference books, and other items. Encyclopedias are located on the other side of the reference desk.

Customers who request books:
1. If the customer knows the title, open the catalog and search by title. If the title dose not appear, do a second search in google.com to make sure the title is correct. At times the customer might have mistakenly written down the wrong title, or overheard the wrong title.

2. If the customer knows the authors last name, open the catalog and search using the last name comma first name format. At times you may not know the correct spelling of the authors last name. Use an alternate search tool to find the correct spelling.

3. If the customer wants books on a subject, do a keyword or multiple index search using those terms. A second option is to use the dewey decimal list and search by subject listing.

4. Journal articles. Most non-business journals are available on line. Go to the Broward County home page. Click on electronic information, next look for magazines and newspapers.

Each one Teach one provides learning services for adults. Tutoring for children is not available.

Fax service is not available.

Color printing is available for an additional cost. Customers make the selection when they hit file print.

D. Myspace is a dating service, a music service, and advertising space. Myspace allows you to meet people virtually, if you are interested in dating. I know of a couple who met through myspace. I met someone through myspace. I don't think myspace lives up to its name. It is NOT a place for friends. It is just a dating site, a business site, and a music advertising site. Anytime someone adds you as friend, you'd better believe they have a music band they are trying to promote.Occasionally you can find old high school and college pals there, but communication with them usually trails off after a while.

D. Barnes and Nobles is still having a successful run at the book business. However, overdrive is great because there are times when my c.d. gets scratched, which ruins the listening experience. I don't have a home computer, so my internet time is limited. Since t.l.c. 2.0 requires a youtube visit, I visited and was pleased. Youtube was pleasing because they have a functioning search feature; you can search using a keyword. I searched using the word 'braid.' I was told that I could find an instructional video for braiding in the past, but I never made the time to find it. I found three braid videos. One supposedly was for instruction, but the videos aren't long enough for you to really learn. You tube not only provides entertainment, it provides a forum for networking and advertising. A few of the braiders posted their phone numbers and made their post into a commercial. You tube requires a log in to post a video, which makes the owners of You tube and the hackers richer. You tube is a win win situation.

DS

D. I am glad we were given the suggestion to choose a topic, and then explore. I chose health beause to me, that is a very important topic. The first website that came up was www.peertrainer.com.
I was quite pleased as I viewed their site. Peertrainer. com appears to be a nice way to meet people with similar interests and goals. You meet people by joining a small group, some that have limits of four people. You also have the option of creating a group, in the hopes that others will join you. you can search for a group by location or topic. I searched by location, using my zip code, and I found a group that is as close to me as Sunrise Boulevard. www.peertrainer.com deserved to be on the awards list.

D.
